December 14, 2009 Flint Community Schools Salutes Mark Ingram, Jr. Message from Superintendent Linda Thompson: The Flint Community Schools congratulates Mark Ingram, Jr. on winning the 2009 Heisman Trophy – the most coveted award in college football. It is a crowning achievement for this young man and his teammates who have had an outstanding year. We also extend heartfelt congratulations to the family of Mark Ingram, Jr. for this outstanding accomplishment. As a graduate of Flint Southwestern Academy, Mark Ingram, Jr. represents the finest of what our young people have to offer in the way of talent, hard work, determination and character. Winning this award could not have happened to a nicer young man. Mark was a fine student and a model citizen when he attended Flint Southwestern Academy. He was a member of the National Honor Society, and always very respectful and well-mannered toward his teachers and classmates. Again, congratulations, to Mark Ingram, Jr. The Flint Community Schools family is very proud of him.
